Sustainability is at the heart of modern construction, and at Polypipe Building Products, we are constantly exploring ways to refine our operations without compromising on the trusted quality our customers rely on. From August 2026, we are proud to begin rolling out our brand-new packaging for our Pro-Straight® Plumbing & Heating Coils.

Traditional plastic bags are being replaced with a high-performance stretch film applied directly to each coil, utilising advanced pre-stretch gearing technology. This transition delivers a substantial reduction in plastic waste while maintaining the robust protection our merchant and installer partners expect.

    Why is it better?

Less plastic. Smaller carbon footprint. Still the same trusty protection.

    • 70%+ less plastic used across key high-volume SKUs
    • 30% recycled content included in the film
    • 100% fully recyclable film supporting a circular economy
    • 30% less material required compared to conventional systems

Driving Efficiency and Circular Economy Principles

Our new wrapping equipment utilises around 30% less film than conventional systems, while the film itself contains at least 30% recycled content and is fully recyclable. By minimising our reliance on virgin plastic, we actively support a circular economy across the building sector.

Designed for Merchants and Installers: The updated packaging is considerably easier to handle on-site and in-branch. It features a built-in pull-cord for safer, knife-free opening, minimising the risk of accidental product damage and improving site safety.

    Quick and Simple Product Identification

To make identification effortless for merchants and installers alike, we have introduced a clear colour-coding system across our coil ranges:

    Dark Blue: Grey Barrier Pipe

    Same Trusted British Quality

While our packaging is undergoing a major sustainable upgrade, the product inside remains exactly the same. Customers will continue to receive the same high-quality, British-manufactured Polypipe plumbing systems, protected to the rigorous standards you know and trust.

Supporting Genuit’s Pathway to Net Zero

This initiative represents another vital milestone in supporting Genuit Group's sustainability ambitions. By cutting plastic consumption, increasing recycled content, improving manufacturing efficiency, and keeping packaging fully recyclable, we continue to lower the carbon impact of our operations from roof to river.
