    Polypipe Building Products has introduced significant engineering improvements to the UG483 110mm (4") 87.5° Long Radius Double Socket Rest Bend. By integrating advanced moulding technology and redesigned stability features, we are setting a new standard for below-ground-to-above-ground transitions.

    Key Engineering Advancements

    1. Single-Piece Moulding Technology

    The UG483 now utilizes a monolithic single-piece mould. By eliminating separate moving parts during manufacturing, the entire body of the fitting is created as one uniform unit. This significantly increases the structural integrity and longevity of the bend under soil loading.

    2. Redesigned "Enhanced Foot" for Stability

    Stability is critical at the base of a vertical soil stack. The new UG483 features:

    • Larger Surface Area: A wider, deeper footprint for better weight distribution.
    • Simplified Installation: The enhanced foot ensures the bend stays level and secure during backfilling, preventing shifting.

    3. Blue Ring "Fit-and-Forget" Lock Seal

    To eliminate the risk of seal displacement during pipe insertion, we have integrated our Blue Ring Lock Seal technology.

    • Rigid White Internal Ring: A fixed rigid ring holds the EPDM seal in a perfect uniform circle.
    • No Distortion: The seal cannot be "pushed out" or distorted, regardless of installation speed or angle, ensuring a 100% watertight joint every time.

    Compliance and Technical Standards

    The UG483 is engineered specifically for high-stress transition points in a drainage system.

    • Building Regulations Part H: Fully compliant for use as the primary bend at the foot of a soil stack.
    • BSI Kitemark™ (BS EN 1401-1): Rigorously tested and certified for underground gravity drainage systems.
    • Angle: 87.5 degree (Long Radius) to ensure optimal flow and reduce the risk of blockages.
