At Polypipe Building Products, we have always believed that the best insights come from the people who use our products every single day. As we continue to innovate within the residential plumbing sector, we are thrilled to announce that a well-known industry personality and highly respected installer has officially joined us as our brand ambassador for plastic plumbing.
Introducing our new Plastic Plumbing Ambassador
Please join us in welcoming the one and only Pointy to the team.
Meet Pointy
Known throughout the industry as the owner of PPH Pointy Plumbing and Heating (PPH Services), Pointy has become a staple of the UK plumbing community. Based in Bromsgrove, his business brings over a decade of experience to the table, including significant expertise in the domestic gas service and installation industry.
Established in 2014, PPH Services has operated as a successful sole trader for the last six years, built on a foundation of professional qualifications and a reputation for technical excellence. But for many in the trade, the name Pointy is synonymous with something more: a genuine, no-nonsense voice for the modern installer.
The Legend of ‘Max Stoperr’
Our relationship with Pointy began years ago on Twitter, back when the platform was the primary hub for trade banter and technical tips. What started as general chat soon evolved into a viral sensation.
On 14 June 2019, an accident on the M6 northbound left Pointy at a standstill for over two hours. Armed with nothing but a mobile phone and a Polypipe goodie bag, he created the legendary ‘Max Stoperr’ video.
"Max Stoperrr"
"When the M6 closes for 3 hours on a morning and all you've got in the van to entertain yourself is a mobile phone and a @polypipetrade goodie bag. I mean I know I could have just looked at Facebook but this is more fun no?" Pointy recalls.
Despite his own modest description of "bad spelling and dreadful animation," the epic story of good versus evil and "dry versus wet" put him firmly on the industry radar. It showcased the creativity and humour that makes the trade community so unique.
Putting Knowledge to the Test: A Question of Regs
Pointy’s expertise isn't just limited to creative storytelling. He was a central figure in our popular YouTube series, ‘A Question of Regs’. The show was designed to break down the complexities of Part L of the Building Regulations, helping installers navigate the most significant legislative changes to hit the heating sector in over a decade. Featuring alongside fellow trade personalities Stanley and Fiona, Pointy faced a series of technical challenges that tested his knowledge of the rules. From flow temperatures to efficiency standards, he demonstrated exactly why he is a leader in the field by coming out on top as the ultimate winner of the series.
A Question of Regs
An Advocate for Plastic Plumbing Innovation
Pointy has long been a champion of the PolyPlumb range of plastic plumbing fittings. Whether discussing the original robust designs or the recent upgrades, he can recite the features and benefits with more precision than most.
Pointy Plumber is on the job with PolyPlumb Enhanced
Crucially, he understands the reality of modern installations: that plastic and copper both have a vital role to play in a residential plumbing system. By using them harmoniously, installers can achieve the best possible results for their customers.
A VIP Tour of Neale Road
To kick off our official partnership, we recently invited Pointy for a VIP tour of our Neale Road manufacturing site. This is the heart of our operations where PolyPlumb Enhanced and our wider range of plastic plumbing solutions are produced. Seeing the British manufacturing process first-hand only reinforced his commitment to the quality and reliability that the Polypipe brand represents.
A Word from our Head of Marketing
Jason Nightingale, Head of Marketing at Polypipe Building Products, shared his excitement about the partnership:
"We are absolutely delighted to have Pointy on board as our official ambassador for Plastic Plumbing. His authenticity and deep-rooted connection with the installer community make him the perfect voice to represent our plastic plumbing range. Pointy doesn’t just talk about the products; he understands the engineering behind them and the practical benefits they bring to a busy job site. This partnership is all about celebrating the trade and showing how innovation, like our PolyPlumb Enhanced range, can make a real difference to daily life on the tools."
Looking Ahead to 2026
This is just the beginning of what promises to be an incredible year. Did you catch the new merch? 👀 We have a series of exclusive drops and surprises planned for our upcoming trade shows this year, including a major presence at the Installer Show 2026.
