At Polypipe Building Products, we believe that being part of a community means more than just doing business there - it’s about opening doors and creating inclusive experiences. This past Saturday, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming members of Bentley SMILE to our executive box at Doncaster Rovers FC for their match against Wigan.

A New Perspective on the Game

For many of us, a trip to the football stadium is a weekend ritual. But for several attendees from Bentley SMILE, this was a day of firsts. From the electric "buzz" of the crowd to the unique view from the box and the stands, the atmosphere provided a sensory experience that was as exciting as the action on the pitch.

Bentley SMILE is one of 13 SMILE centres across Doncaster dedicated to supporting adults with additional needs and learning difficulties. Providing a space where everyone feels welcome to enjoy the beautiful game is a core part of our commitment to local inclusion.

"When Can We Go Again?"

The energy in the box was infectious. Jazz Jones, our Head of Learning and Development, noted that the day was defined by "big smiles, lots of laughter, and some nail-biting moments" as the game unfolded.

"What a brilliant way to start the year, by opening doors, creating moments that matter, and making people happy," Jazz shared. "Moments like these remind us why inclusion and community really do make a difference. The joy it brought was genuinely heart-warming."

The ultimate stamp of approval? The first question asked as the final whistle blew: "When can we go again?"

Looking Forward

We are proud to support the incredible work being done by the SMILE centres in Doncaster. Saturday wasn't just about football; it was about ensuring that the landmarks and events in our town are accessible to everyone.

A huge thank you to the team at Doncaster Rovers for helping us host such a memorable afternoon. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
